On an FTTP exchange - what do I do?

[link to this post]

Hi all

I'm on an FTTP exchange (Forest Hill) and I've just noticed that the BT wholesale checker now says the following for my telephone number:

"Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a WBC Fibre To The Premises technology with an estimated Broadband downstream line speed of up to 330Mbps and upstream line speed of up to 30Mbps."

BT Infinity suggests I can get the 100/15 product.

Ideally I'd prefer not to use BT though due to bad experiences with their support.

However I'm finding it hard to figure out which other ISPs are offering the FTTP product at this time.

Is there a list anywhere?

Cheers!
Chris

Plusnet have a trial going. You might be able to get on that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the likes if vivaciti and ADSL24 haven't got it available. Try their checkers, and if that fails ring them up.

I'm not aware of an FTTP list.

Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.0/13.9Mbps @ 600m.

I don't know, I had the BT 80/20 FTTC package and it was fine, they didn't get upset with ~1TB/Month usage, and I managed full speed P2P throughout any time of the day with tweaked uTorrent settings smile

BT / Openreach - You've finally done well. Very well indeed.

We do offer FTTP, but as it is not that wide spread our checkers have not yet been geared up to show it.

I can't see any other ISP offer FTTP at a price that will match BT anyways.

I have been on Infinity for 12 months and haven't had any problems.

If support worrys you the mods on the BT forum or BT_Care on this forum give excellent support.

You shouldn't need their 'support' once installed, you'll get whichever service/speed you sign up for, end of.
