sopcast and live sport

[link to this post]

I sometimes use Sopcast to watch live sport.

Is BT Infinity likely to reduce the speed of the download?

Their usage policy refers to slowing down p2p but not streaming and I'm not sure how they will classify Sopcast.

I just googled sopcast.

The second result is the link to their website. Says it uses P2P.

I clicked the link, P2P is splattered all over its Home Page. So unless somehow they hide the fact, using a VPN or something, ....

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.0/13.9Mbps @ 600m.

Plusnet might throttle it under that classification but the only way to know on Infinity would be to try it at various times of day.

Never had a problem with Sopcast here with Infinity, when I was with Sky LLU I had to ask the kids to get off youtube, PSN, Xbox live etc when I was trying to watch through Sopcast but now all is good.....

Testing it tonight for the first time on Infinity and it's fine at the moment. Noticeably better than on regular BT Broadband

Nobody in BT, so far at least, seems to know whether or not using Sopcast for live sport will be throttled on BT Infinity - it's amazing! Someone must know but I don't know how to contact them.

One of the attractions of fast internet is the possibility of getting decent live sport viewing (with my current BT internet I can only get between 1 and 3mb). I have been thinking of going to SKY fibre but I don't want their (compulsory) phone service and I see one of the people who posted a reply was not happy with SKY!

Has anyone had their Sopcast throttled by BT Infinity?
