Best way to find out when a line is enabled for FTTC orders?

[link to this post]

After years of substandard Broadband performance Iím keen to order FTTC services as soon as they are available.

The good news is that our cab has now been installed (on Aberdeen Kincorth exchange) and the last word from BT was that it would be enabled in November.

I keep an eye on the BT wholesale availability checker via http://www.thinkbroadband.com/btavailability.html.

Is this the best way of finding out when it and the exchange have actually been enabled for orders so that I can get my order placed as soon as possible?

Cheers,

Steve

Pretty much is the best way, some providers may not take orders for a few days after the BT Wholesale checker says yes.

That may give info at exchange level, but often it is useless for individual lines as there are nearly always several different FTTC cabs to consider, and the current trend indicates that only a small percentage of the cabs installed have to be complete for the exchange to be accepting orders
And the other BT checker will often not show anything regarding fiber once the exchange has gone live or soon afterwards,

I doubt if it shows anything at all about exchanges in the US.
