BT Fibre even more confusion

[link to this post]

As some of you may or may not know, from some of my earlier posts. FTTC has been delayed my area for about 6 months now.

Now recently been pushed yet another 3 months (to December). But if I enter my telephone number into bt site it says it's available now. But on Samknows it says 'FTTC should be available in your area from 30/09/2012.' But on Openreach's map it says Coming soon and the forecast date is December 2012.

Don't know if any of you guys can shed any light on this.

Thanks in advance.

The one checker to believe is the BT Wholesale one at
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/btavailability.html

If when entering your phone number it gives fibre estimates then cab is live or a mistake has been made.

SamKnows looks to have not updated with the latest roll-out information, and that may the issue with the Openreach one, even though they should be the source data.

Real question is whether your cabinet has its fibre partner and it is humming very quietly

I had exactly the same situation. However, a week ago the BT line checker started showing an estimated FTTC speed, so I immediately put in an order with PlusNet and have an installation date of the 26th.

The Openreach site still shows my postcode as "Coming Soon" with an expected date of December 2012!

Well I've looked on my account with my current ISP (Plusnet), and it looks like I can get it (finally).

Does this mean if everyone checks with PlusNet, they can do FTTC where nobody else can? wink

I had also checked originally on the BT site, hence the confusion (with samknows saying 30th September, and the BT Open reach roll-out map saying December 2012).

I have since then look on my account with plusnet.

Get your order in quick then smile Sam Knows can be well slow at updating, and I expect the other sites haven't caught up yet.

No, Plusnet would give the same answer as the BT Wholesale checker.

You missed my smiley Kevin. Just co-incidence that two people had both failed to get an answer elsewhere, yet PlusNet was able to give them a positive answer. If only life was that simple...
