Brilliant thanks. Although I still doubt that I'll get anywhere near 71mb. Bt estimate my adsl2+ connection at 11mb, and I only get 6.

On a separate note, if someone can take a look at my post in the Technical issues thread, I'd be very grateful. Ta

The BT estimate for the FTTC are actually a bit on the comservative side because they include the estimated reduction in speed due to crosstalk as the more fibre customers get connected.

When I had fibre the BT estimate was 62 Mbps but I actually got 73 Mbps.

We have also checked the latest Openreach data, which tells us the following:
Exchange Name FTTC or FTTP Explanation
EAKLN KINGS LYNN FTTC available Where cabinets/fibre have been installed orders are being accepted, you can check with your telephone number at the BT Wholesale Checker.

E304GX KINGS LYNN FTTC, but not available yet 100% P60

My area is currently being fitted for FTTC.

As far as i can make out my cabinet has been fitted and last week the pavement beside it was dug up and the power was connected by the local electricity company.

The fibre cabinet is situated over the road from the normal telephone cab, will the road need to be dug up to connect the two?

thanks

I wonder if this is your cab, although it doesn't quite look like a BT PCP.
It could be one of these.

mine is a dec 2012 area.

date given by openreach query 6 dec.

the cabinet across road from me (which i still believe isnt mine but is the one I can watch from my window) had the pavement dug up round it and put in a couple of weeks back maybe 3 weeks cant remember exactly but was fairly recent, and a week or so ago they were feeding ducting to it. How much more work has to be done after that stage no idea tho and I hope it isnt much, the day I spoke to the openreach guys there was a blockage on the last short run to the cabinet from the corner but its possible openreach have been back since and thats resolved as I dont watch it 24/7.
