Line Rate Data

[link to this post]

Having been activated for a few days, the sync seems to have dropped. Is this normal? I did unplug the modem yesterday afternoon ....

Up Down Sync BRAS Interleave Date

20000 74099 76552 TR101 Auto 18-Dec-2012 08:24 18-Dec-2012 08:24
20000 77436 80000 TR101 Auto 14-Dec-2012 11:07 14-Dec-2012 11:07

Edit: This data is from the Zen Portal

In a word, Yes.

DLM is likely to have reacted to errors on the line (or resyncs) and added interleaving & FEC (Forward Error Correction). The FEC process steals some of the ultimate bandwidth.

Thank you. Does it go back up again?

(not that a couple of mb really matters, just interested)

I've had both happen.

One line, where the errors were constant, and probably came from crosstalk with the neighbours, kept interleaving.

The other line gained interleaving after a line fault, then lost it 3-4 weeks after the line was fixed.

And the profiler automatically dropped again this morning to 60mb.

Off to call Zen I guess as that isn't okay.
