PCB cabinet

[link to this post]

Do all fibre cabinets need to be near a PCB cabinet. i ask because i was driving in town tonight and came a cross a fibre cab on a long stretch of road. Now the street had no side streets or anything for a PCB cab to hide. I looked and looked but could not find a PCB anywhere near it. The Fibre cab was right next to a BT man hole cover

Yes - an FTTC cab is always connected to a PCP cabinet. The PCP will be within 40-50 metres or so.

Are you sure that this is an FTTC CAB? What sort?

BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!

Any hedges or low walls?

I think there is a remote possibility of an underground "PCP cabinet", as well.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet Extra Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.0/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Without a photo I don't think we can help. Beware, however, I have a 'PCP looking' green cabinet in my village which is a Southern Water remote pump unit smile))

I don't think there is any reason why an underground space could not house a PCP type, but I would suggest it would be very difficult to work on! This new 'PCP' of which you speak will require mains power - any sign of that? Any nameplates/references/logos on the cabinet?

Which exchange?
