Visualware speedtest

[link to this post]

The Visualware speedtest at http://mcslhr.visualware.com/myspeed/myspeed_line_ap... was quire useful in giving additional information on te connection and was quite quick at doing so.

I used it occasionally on my old 40/2 service and prior to that on ADSL2+ without issue. However, I have tried it on my 80/20 service and for a 65Mbit line capability it only ever gives 38.nn or 39.nn results.

What do others see? It the test capped at 40Mbps?

I used to find visulaware the most reliable test; but over last month or so it has given low download figures.
Just now it gave 15.7 download and 16.2 upload, speedtest.net gave 64.4/15.1.
Visualware still seems to give the most accurate upload results.

If you go via http://myspeed.visualware.com/index.php you can choose server.
Still getting the same low result for London server.
Maidenhead gave 36.0/16.5

Moved (with trepidation) to BT Infinity 2 for upload speed. Happy BE user for several years.

I normally use London - as it is the closest. It gave 38.8 from a possible 38.8 ! Maidenhead gave 58.7 from a possible 59.n ... even their N American locations recognise that I have a near 60 capability. They must have a problem with their London node.

I had to stop using it. It kept demanding that I log in or that the server wasn't available. It wasn't obvious how to register so I gave up on it. I'll try it again tonight.

Yeah it claimed 33Mb/s down and 17 up. The former is definitely wrong. Speedtest.net usually says around 68Mb/s and last week week I installed Microsoft Flight (1.8GB) in twenty minutes - the download was actually the shorter part.

I find that test the most accurate these days for me.
