31st March 2014 Availability Date?

[link to this post]

This is a placeholder date that doesn't actually mean anything.

So if you see it don't get too panicky, it's probably a result of the previous complaints - Openreach are playing it ultra safe.

Example:

Address xx WARREN ROAD, TWICKENHAM, TW2 7DJ on Exchange KNELLER HALL is served by Cabinet 21

WBC FTTC Up to 75.7 Up to 20 -- 31-Mar-14

It'll be ready by May 2013.

This is inconsistently applied so far, so be aware:

Address xxx CHURCH STREET, TWICKENHAM, TW1 3NJ on Exchange TWICKENHAM is served by Cabinet 36

WBC FTTC Up to 69.3 Up to 20 -- 31-Mar-13

This was delayed for the same reasons and will be built at the same time approximately as 21 Kneller Hall but checker still claims March.

Either way do not panic too much - it's a placeholder date on steroids!

What checker are you using to see what cabinet are you connected to?

Got any rules of thumb for the new date estimates?

Where I am we have loads at 31st March 2013 - most are installed.

Some with a few problems set to 31st June 2013.

A few which might be dependent on FTTP (FTTC on a FTTP shared agre) having no dates or Dec 31st 2013 but were Dec 31st 2012 - cab in this example is actually in.

FTTP areas have no dates but return building type but only those which we estimate will be within 6 months.

Sounds right?

Not the first time someone has posted this - does BT really think this date exists? Sorry to be picky but seeing it in print almost sets my teeth on edge!
