FTTC in council block

[link to this post]

Afternoon

I have a flat in a council block in London. According to the various cabinet checkers, I am connected directly to the exchange. I do know that there is some kind of patch frame in the basement, since when I moved in the BT technician had to go down there to enable my line. Whilst FTTC cabinets have appeared on nearby streers, and the RFS date for the exchange is later this year, am I correct in thinking that without a cabinet, I won't be getting FTTC any time soon?

The openreach postcode checker gives me the RFS date of the exchange when I try it...but I am a bis suspect of that!

Oh well...

I was with O2 on Annexe M, but can't go back to them now they are owned by Sky
I don't need a massive download, but an upload that isn't tiny would be nice...

Any suggestions for a provider offering annexe M at reasonable price?

I'm currently with Virgin, but won't be for long - their service here is massively overloaded making VOIP impossible smile

Quite a few ISP's, one of them being PlusNet will limit your upload speed. With Plusnet you had to request that it was uncapped.

When I was on ADSL my upload went from 0.37Mbs to 0.75Mbs when I requested it to be uncapped, it had no affect on download speeds.
