RJ11 to RJ45 for faceplate/modem?

[link to this post]

I want to replace the standard flat vdsl cable that goes from the faceplate to the BT OR modem.

I know the faceplate accepts RJ45, but the modem doesnt, so one cant simply use a patch cable.

Whats the best way around this?

It's RJ11. Edit, let me amplify that - RJ11 will plug into an RJ45 socket.

What are you saying? You want a better quality cable that connects the two? I used a site a few years ago to make me an ethernet cable with two rj-11 connecters, I think that would be your best bet.
My girlfriends mum has a similar setup with ethernet sockets but I am unsure how that works as the modem just connects to an extention bt supplied.

One of these, he'll even make them to length if you ask nicely.

Not unless the pairs are twisted. And how is the shield earthed?

They are OK but a little bulky and the cable will tend to pull out!

They would be much cheaper if they were made from 2pair Cat5e. Cat 6 does not really offer much in this case, if anything and can be a nuisance to get to bend or move out of te way.
