BT Running Fibre To My Office (Glasgow)

[link to this post]

Had a strange one today at work. BT turned up after our head office booked them in as one of our servers is being moved here. They've turned up today to run what the engineers said is "BFT" fibre optic cable?

This area we are in isn't down for FTTC as its mainly an industrial estate so it seems crazy to see they are running this into our building.

The office is in Cambuslang Court, G32.

Anyone heard of this before? I assumed that Openreach weren't going to install fibre to the premises unless it was already in a FTTC area. We're connected to the Cambuslang exchange which is due to go live very soon.

It may not be anything to do with FTTP. It could be a direct fibre connection as is used by many businesses already.

I had no idea they were doing it. I always thought it was another specialist company who done it.

Well, I guess I'll see how it goes.

Thanks!

It'll be a private circuit.... nothing to do with NGA.

Like us. Well - Real Soon(tm). BT's last communication to our provider was 23rd April for blowing the fibre. Woo hoo!
