Fibre on demand 220 / 20 pricing

[link to this post]

Seems Openreach have announced wholesale pricing for the 220 / 20 FTTP product. Annual cost £288 vs £220.08 for the 80 / 20 product.

Therefore the wholesale cost is only £5.66 per month greater than the 80 / 20. Maybe the cost to end users wont be too crazy after all.. Unless isp's factor some other costs in?

To me the monthly costs are already reasonable its the install costs and contract length that are a bit out of this world.

I think a likely scenario will be the ISP spreading the initial install cost through the monthly fee. That way, at least to some, it might be more attractive than having to pay a lump sum up front though I can't imagine that the smaller providers would be willing to do this. At the moment though we don't have the full picture, so we'll just have to wait and see. I'm still trying to find where my aggregation node is in the myriad of BT manhole covers (They'd be under these right?) scattered around.

Sounds good apart from that there is no 220/20 FTTPoD product.

The only product available as part of an FTTPoD install is 330/30.

That's not the FTTPoD price list, Bill, that's the FTTP price list.

Correct - if you want FTTP and you're not in an area that has it already you'll have to pay for FTTPoD.

Right now the only FTTPoD tier is 330/30. There is no 220/20 FTTPoD product as of the time I'm typing this.

At least that's what the price lists say - surely if all tiers were available they'd have to be on the FTTPoD price list, yes?

Not what they are saying, ok so commercial rollout is not as big as expected hence I have been saying 5 to 10% for some time.

Will chase for some actual clarity

Thanks Andrew, some clarity (as far as that's compatible with BT machinations) would be welcome.
