Fibre Cab Options

[link to this post]

Just a quick question ;

I know telcos normally offer two Fibre Products where one offers faster speeds than the other, now is this dependant on the cab having the correct equipment to offer both?

In other words, are there different hardware setups for cabs and just because the cab is able to offer option 1 it may not be activated or have the relevant hardware to support option two with greater speeds?

Many thanks in advance...

FTTC cabs support all three speed products, and actual speeds just vary according to the distance

Is there any way if finding out where my nearest cab is located? I've hunted high and low and cannot find it anywhere. I do know that the estate next to me have exchange only lines...

the BT Wholesale availability checker tells you your cab number at the top

MaxDSL - goes as fast as it can and doesn't read the line checker first.

If you know the cabinet number, then look ups on postcode/address for others in area and find those with the highest estimate and it is likely to be near there
