Do I need to change phone/line rental when..

[link to this post]

I'm contemplating moving to BT Infinity soon. Do I need to also take out their phone line rental too?

I'm with TalkTalk for the phone rental.

Yes

There is the odd exception, but as rare as finding the winning lottery ticket in your wallet

I'm mainly looking to BT Infinity because of people saying its actually unlimited downloads and no traffic management.

With T-T I dont think thats the case, especially with the track record of ISP's they've bought out over the years. It seems to be a group of the ISP's most declined all grouped together.

Pipex and Bulldog were quite well respected ISP's in their day until Tiscali bought them. It just went downhill from there.

I used to be on Pipex, which was a great ISP at first but then didnt move with the times and lost out, then got bought out by Tiscali, which was another ISP that's reputation was going down.

Be, my current ISP seems to be going the same way. At one point it was the best for adsl2+ but with no fttc products coming its put itself out of the field. Which is a shame. If Be had done a fttc product then I might have kept with them as for service I've never had an issue with them. They also have the best customer service facilities with their forum and irc channel. I'm not leaving Be because of technical issues like I did with freeserve then pipex, but purely because they dropped the ball with lack of products.

BT Infinity 2 unlimited is my favoured next choice.

What about Plusnet, they also have an unlimited package, and no restrictive traffic management. Better priced than BT as well I think.
