Looks like you're at the end of a 200m cable.

Most people get a bit above. Quite a few get a lot under (aluminium wires a common and effectively unfixable reason).

They just regraded all the estimates; mostly downwards. http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/fibre/f/4241533-who...

Moved (with trepidation turned relief) to BT Infinity 2 for upload speed. Happy BE user for several years.

Mine was estimated at 57Mb/s. According to BT's speedtester, initial sync was 68 for a few weeks, but I was tidying up the modem/router cables a couple of weeks ago and disconnected it a few times. Since re-sync it has been syncing at 60 with download speed ~57. I'm waiting another week or so before rebooting it so don't know whether I'll get back to 68

Many people seem to exceed BT's fttc estimate.

I mean for the distance of 60m or so 30% less download and 25% less up frown

54mb would put him about 450 - 500 meters, and if the cable goes around the road then he may well be.

http://goo.gl/maps/81gz3 400 meters

My estimate is 57 and I'm 450 meters from my cab, but only get 47 frown

My estimate was 46, now 41 and I'm 450m as measured but get 48. (Sync'd at 52145kbps).

YMMV.

Let us know how accurate it was on Friday, it's not like you can do anything about it regardless so no point in worrying about the guesstimate, see what you actually get.
