Moving TalkTalk Fibre to EE Fibre

[link to this post]

hi there not posted for a while but i have a question.

on 7th October i am moving my phone and BB to EE, and as i already have the new faceplate will an engineer still be required to visit or could it just entail being moved from TalkTalk equipment to the New equipment at the exhange?

im curious thats all, im guessing engineer will go to the exchange then turn up here with a new modem and plug it in? or will i use modem i already have?

many thanks,

A fibre to fibre move shouldn't involve rejumpering. I'd expect you to stay connected to the same port in the cabinet, with the equipment being reprogrammed to move you from the TalkTalk VLAN to the VLAN of whichever wholesale supplier EE use.

If you're leaving TalkTalk's LLU phone service and moving to another voice supplier, that will involve physical rejumpering in the exchange, as your line is moved from one supplier's equipment to another.

You keep the same modem. There is no house visit.

Thanks. I thought so, but wasn't going to guess.

EE don't just use BTw, like most ISPs, they simply resell a BTw White Label service. They have no ISP kit themselves.

Think Post Office and until a year or so ago Vodafone.
