Any FTTC plans for this exchange?

[link to this post]

Exchange is Towcester

Cannot find any info on any plans for FTTC in this town.

Visited the parents for the first time in about 5 months and everywhere has FTTC cabs and BT have been busy working until about 3 weeks ago when they finished. it now seems almost ready to go live yet not a single article saying it was getting it. In fact the BT wholesale checker says no current plans.... Very strange.

Anyone able to get any information?

Probably a BDUK based roll-out and the checker sometimes does not update until a joint release from both Council/BT has been made

Suspect you are right Andrew, searching your news articles doesn't produce any results for towcester (well not about fibre/bduk at least) but a google of towcester and bduk finds this http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/6041-want-superfa...

so yeah March 2014 then it appears

Still no FTTC up there? Wow. We've had it in Brackley for over 18 months now :-/

Yep no FTTC up there, even more worrying without BDUK funding, there still wouldn't be any!

Go figure how a town of around 5,000 is missing from BT plans to provide any type of fibre (it only went ADSL2 in 2010), its not exactly a poor town either is it... so why have Northamptonshire County Council had to provide funds to get a provider to upgrade it.

It's where all the council offices are as well so hardly a town of no import although it is smaller than Brackley. I wonder if we gained from being close to the M40 and viewed as being in the 'South East'? I know that most people in Brackley work in that direction. A lot commute to Oxford, Bicester, London, Reading. Some - like me now - even commute to Birmingham.
