Home Hub 5 - Remote Access

[link to this post]

Hey All,

Finally getting around to sorting out by Infinity 2 package. Got dyndns setup to allow access across the internet to my NAS.

With my trusty netgear N600 Router which i had when on ADSL i could remotely access the router to check stats etc. Is there anyway i can do the same with the Home Hub 5? Cant seem to find any menus to allow this option - i am thinking that it might be locked down.

Is this the case - and is there any way around this to allow access?

I've had a quick look in the settings and can't find the option to remote in, but I've only had the router 2 weeks so not 100% familiar with it.

Are you doing anything else remotely? You could use something like VNC screen sharing to connect to PC on the local side of the router and then open a browser from there.

Yeah I looked at that but ideally I need to access it as a stand alone device independent of a PC.

I am leaning towards getting a dedicated vdsl modem which I have better control over.
