FTTC cab question

[link to this post]

I am looking for a bit of information about the feeds to the FTTC cabs.

My cab is 12 which has a FTTC cab just recently installed still some work to be done now the question im asking is does cab 11 need to be installed and connected to feed my cab 12.

I am asking because there seems to be a delay in installing cab 11, Its still a bit of time before the RFS date but would like to know if it will delay the progress any

Thanks in advance and excuse the question if it seems totally obvious lol

I think that fibre comes from the exchange, to a cab, then to the next and so on. Daisy Chained.

That makes more sense to me than having separate fibre blown to each cab but I cant say for sure.

I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will say.

All depends on how the fibre routing to the exchange is done rather than cab 11 being installed

The fibre is not daisy chained from cabs but may go via the same ducting and share some of the same fibre components but these are all independent of the cabs

Thanks Sean for your reply.

Also thanks Andrew going by what you said it could have a delay for cab 12 getting the fiber but in the same sentence maybe not?

Or

Do you mean could be routed via 10 for example to my cab (12) then onto 11 for argument sake?

What is being said is, No - Cab 11 does not need to be connected in order for Cab 12 to be connected, but if the problem with Cab 11 is a blocked duct and if Cab 12 is fed via the same duct and the blockage is before the feed to Cab 11 branches off, then that blockage would also affect Cab 12.

In case that is as clear as mud, on request I will supply a bucket of water and a cloth to help.

There's also a lot of other reasons Cab 11 may be held up, (nearly?) all of which would not have any relevance at all to Cab 12.
