Fibre/Cable

[link to this post]

I just signed up virgin media 152/12 for a good deal of just £23.50 for the first 6 months then £28.50 thereafter for the remaining of my 12 months contract. I just give my fibre to the cabinet (plusnet) 72/17 to my daughter now. So, she can have her own streaming netflix kids, online skype with her friends. While I using my cable broadband for my own streaming, video chat with my mate and downloading stuff. wink

You must have money to burn, and there was me thinking you also hated Virgin media and couldn't wait to cancel.

Did it never occur to you to share the connection,or perhaps I should go and buy each of my kids their own connection, oh, hang they get on just fine with my 42 meg connection shared.

Hey, if you've got the money why not?!

You need to investigate some form of load balancing. Potential 200+ meg? blush

Will the higher speed get rid of the congestion that was your reason for leaving them? Doesn't it just give it a wider range to fall through, so it feels even worse?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

And 'working' from home of course.

And even after you previously stated upload speeds on VM were insufficient.

I could go on ...

I presume you have ordered VM 152/12 and phone line
so 28.50 + 15.99 = 44.50
and plusnet
19.99 + 14.50 = 34.49
so 2 phone lines and 2 broadband connections =78.99 p/m

Have you considered moving to somewhere where you can get FTTP or 1gig www.hyperoptic.com

I just knew he wouldn't settle for FTTC, even at full speed, still I suppose there's worse things to be fixated on.

Virgin Media 152/12 (without phone line) £23.50 (first 6 months with £5.00 discount)) then £28.50 (6 months) (£28.50 can continue for 18 months with £9 off discount loyalty on account)
Plusnet 72/17 (without phone line) £16.99 (18 months with £5.50 discount)
BT Line with Anytime Calls (£7.00 a month) (no line rental already pay one off line rental advance last year until April 2014)

Total to pay £47.49 a month (6 months) then (£52.49 there after)

I will change BT Line Rental and Anytime calls to Zen Home Talk Plus next month to get cheaper deal.
