help from someone who can read into ping graphs

[link to this post]

Just made the change from BT infinity to Sky fiber unlimited, was activated 2 days ago (17th), i've had 1-2 disconnects while ive actually been online. So thought i'd check my ping graph and notice spikes every few hours, just wanted to know if there is any obvious cause for this or is it just the "settling period" while DLM trys to adjust my line?

My Ping Graph

Thanks for any help

The fibre side of things should be pretty much the same, did you change service speeds at all?

Sounds like interleaving level is lower and the DLM will probably kick in and raise latency and thus be able to error correct the errors

Why is it that we both get about 7ms pings even we both from different bt exchanges?

There will be people a lot more than 6 miles away from you getting the same ping. And 6 miles is hardly any distance at all in ping times - it is fractions of a second to travel that distance. More significant is the route the ISP network takes around the country (that could add 100's of miles to a route) and the level of interleaving on the line.
