Will my current ADSL line improve with FTTC.

I live approx 4km from the exchange and get between 2mbps and 3mbps. My village is due to receive FTTC around 2015. I was wondering if my ADSL connection will improve when the cabinet is updated to FTTC. Will I be able to get closer to the maximum 24mbps of ADSL+2 or will nothing change unless I subscribe to the Fibre packages of my ISP.

FTTC itself will make no difference to the ADSL speeds, you need to upgrade.

The only thing that may change is if no ADSL2+ is currently available, then it may (note MAY not will) become available and this will boost upload speeds, but at 2 to 3 Mbps probably give no real boost to downloads.

Have you checked out your ring wire? 500kbps-1.2Mbps improvements seen on these forums.
