Will it be FTTC or FTTP?

[link to this post]

Moved recently to a fairly rural location. Have great views, but not so great broadband speeds - can't have it all I guess.

Anyway, currently connected to the Caerwys exchange, which went live for Fibre last month. BT ADSL checker shows me connected to CAB 1, which is not yet enabled. I believe I'm on an EO line.

Have contacted Superfast-Cymru to ask when/if I will be included in the rollout, and if it would be FTTC, FTTP, or the staying with the current ADSL. Unfortunately I have only received the stock non-committal response about 'exploring solutions for future deployments'.

The reason I'm asking if it might be FTTC or FTTP is that there is a new'ish telegraph pole outside my property with nothing currently connected to it (current line comes from a nearby pole). Pole was installed July 2014 by BT according to the notice pinned to it, and there's a handy looking tube/duct at the base with a cap on it smile

Does anyone have more info as to what's likely to be deployed, or not, and if so what the timescales are?

Cheers
Andy

If you're connected to a cab, then you're not EO. My guess would be FTTC, if the cab's nearby.

How come there's no fibre on it yt despite it being erected in July 2014?

Is that normal for such a delay?

I'll keep an eye out for any BT engineers working outside the house. Unlimited cups of tea on offer for anyone installing fibre!
