Exchange upgraded but not to my house

[link to this post]

Superfast Cymru proudly announced my local exchange, Kerry now has Fibre, but after enquiring, not to me. After all the excitement waiting I feel a bit put out. There are 6 properties on my lane on the same exchange.Do I (we) just give up or is there any hope in the short or even long term of getting the much faster speed.

As other poster highlighted the exchange may be supplying fibre based services, but really the key is which cabinet you are connected to.

TBH I don't think they would get FTTP, granted their exchange has been upgraded to support FTTC and FTTP, but going by where Cabinet E5 was originally down for FTTP and has now been installed as FTTC, I am guessing that cabinets P1 and E1 "may" also be changed to FTTC.

And to show plans change, found a part of Didcot that was planned for FTTC, but got FTTP in the end.

Thanks for this, in my ignorance I supposed having seen Open Reach at work for weeks that Fibre to me would follow. Having signed up for Superfast Cymru updates it's a pity they don't keep one better informed. This year? Next Year.
