As fibre deployment in your area is covered by BDUK via Highland & Islands Enterprise, HIE will be able to advise you when/if they will connect your line to a new PCP cabinet. Here in the outskirts of Inverness (also under BDUK) they've converted many EO lines over the last year or so. Drop Nick Scroggie a quick email with your address & tel number:

Chances are you might be surveyed soon under BDUK. BDUK are starting to make All-In-One Cabs (PCP and Fibre Cab Combined); you may be transferred to one of those

Well I have the following:
BT Wholesale Exchange Information.

Exchange Name: Poolewe
Exchange Code: NSPOO

Post Code: IV22

  • Cabinet: EO
    • Fibre: 0
    • ADSLx: 263
    • None: 3

All above information is correct at time of 19:30 24-May-2015.
It seems that your exchange is all EO lines like a few of the surrounding exchanges, so for you get fibre you would need to have a PCP cabinet and then a fibre cabinet installed, or an All in One PCP and Fibre Cabinet.

Also your Exchange isn't fibre ready yet as far as I can see, seems to be a very small exchange supporting 266 connections.

I did a few searches and found the following:
Fibre not available

You are connected to Poolewe via an 'EO (Exchange Only) line'. This means your line is connected directly to the exchange. Faster broadband is not available to you yet.

You can find more information on how we are addressing EO lines by looking at the FAQ section of the website.

You can also keep up-to-date on progress with the Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband programme by registering your details here.
This may sound bad, but your not being left out...
Poolewe

Fibre broadband is not currently available in this area.

Digital Scotland plans to extend fibre broadband coverage in this area. Work under the Digital Scotland programme means that the first premises in this area are currently expected to receive fibre broadband in the period July to December 2016. Please note that engineering plans and delivery timescales depend on many factors and can be subject to change. All information is based on the best view we have today using our current plans. Deployment in this exchange is being managed by Highlands and Islands Enterprise for more information go to www.hie.co.uk/digital or send an email to hidigital@hient.co.uk.
Seems that you may have to wait to end of next year frown

That's all I could fine out.

Paul
