Drop in speed

I have enjoyed a speed of 35mbps up and 5mbps down for some weeks now, with the odd dis/re connection always hitting those stats. Dis/re connected 1 day ago and now 27mbps and 2.64mbps down. Am with BT and Home Hub 5.

Might be the Huawei cabinet G.INP becoming active, from what I know the HH5A doesn't like it and reduces the sync speed of the downstream during the retrain. The dis/reconnect is symptomatic but I can't be sure of this explanation without more information.

The usual test is to connect an unlocked HG612 and see what it reports for the sync speed and G.INP status.

If not that, could it be due to local work on the cabling? Something in the house changing?

All these things are possible.

Thanks for that info. It has reset again and is a little higher, 28mbps down but only .537 mbps up. (Got my ups and downs mixed up in my original message..apologies!)
