Cabinet enabled and accepting orders but not for my address?

[link to this post]

Hi there, I'm looking to find out if anyone has any idea when my address will be able to get fibre broadband. My post code is PH2 8AL and its Cabinet 18, Perth I think. I've been checking BT Openreach regularly for months and the cabinet was listed as EA but now its been changed to UR.

Any ideas?

Your postcode is covered by two cabinets

What does https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html say when you check your telephone number or FULL address.

Postcode alone is not enough for you.

95% chance you are on cab 18 which is not expected to be live until Sept 2015

Cabinet 54 which serves a couple of places is live and is taking orders.

It is live but only for 4% of addresses in that postcode. As Mr Saffron said, 95% of addresses in that location aren't served by that cab but by the one scheduled to be upgraded by end of Sept. 2015.

Hi, I tried BT Wholesale with my phone number but it didn't recognise it as its a Sky Talk number so I used my full postal address - this is what it came back with:-

FTTC is currently not available on this cabinet due to following reasons:- Sorry it's taking us longer than planned to get your cabinet ready for service. Please bear with us.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

For FTTC Ranges A and B, the term "Clean" relates to a line which is free from any wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions, and the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions.

Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Dec-2012; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30-Jun-2014.

Where planned or expected availability dates are shown, these may be liable to change.

Note: If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service.
The DP is external to the end user premises.

Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number check.

Thank you for your interest."

I'm guessing that means I'll be waiting until around October time before I can get superfast broadband then.

Yeap so its wait for them to get the cab ready, and its the same for other postcodes on that cabinet.

There may have been a day or two it was open for orders but they discovered a problem and while fixing it they've returned the cabinet to a not ready state. This happens but is rare, i.e. know of one other cabinet that this happened on.
