Is it possible to get banding removed?

[link to this post]

I had a resync on 28-Jul at 66999/19999 but my attainable is now around 76000. I have been on 66999 before with higher attainable figures so it looks very much as though my connection has been banded. Will this ever go away of its own accord or does it have to be reset? I have had G.INP enabled for some time now.

This followed a long period where my sync and attainable had been around 64-65000. The latest resync seems to have coincided with a change in the DSLAM chipset version number from 0xa44f to 0xa459. Happy to post any stats if it helps. Thanks.

Without seeing the full stats and doing a per bin calculation it is feasible that the attainable figure may not be higher due to banding, but an over optimistic estimate of possible sync, i.e. lower target SNR than DSLAM imposes.

Or at last resync at 66999 was perfect, but then a few seconds later noise reduced slightly and as modems don't resync to chase the improvement you now have spare in the attainable.

As its FTTC getting things reset is harder and usually needs a fault to have been raised by the provider and given the minor difference I cannot see an ISP entertaining it.
