That's a shame, I am currently sitting here awaiting an OR engineer visit which should confirm that they cannot get my line above 2.6Mb (it's dropped to this since a couple more properties at other end of village went FTTC), this should then trigger my release from TalkTalk FTTC contract, I might have considered going to the 18/2 product at £4+vat if it had been available.
So back to ADSL it seems until the 10Mb USO kicks in.

If your FTTC is 2.6Mbit, why were you interested in the 18/2 product?

Don't forget the £4pm is what Openreach charge the CP, which other than Sky, TT and Vodafone means BT Wholesale, who charge your ISP for all the backhaul and so on as well.

The OR price for 40/10 is £7.40pm.

If I had a choice of ADSL of 1.3Mb or just a little bit more for a 18/2 which might give me 2.6Mb I would think about it, as it is, at the end of my 'special price' period I will be paying £10 extra to get an additional 1.3Mb which is beyond a joke.
Anyway as it happens the OR engineer has tried a reset (again) which has lifted my speed to 4.6Mb we'll see how long it stays at this.

Just to clarify you can get FTTC?

Your ADSL is 1.3mb? What does the DSL Checker checker show you?

I get this based on my address.

I get FTTC/Phone installed tomorrow laugh

The OP has FTTC, now with a speed of 4.6meg. They are very far from the cabinet.
