BT cabinet or something else?

[link to this post]

Has anyone any idea what this might be?

It's on a road in our village way too far from the cabinet for FTTC to be available.

Is it anywhere near a bus stop?

Kindness isn't going to cure the world of all its awfulness but it's a good place to begin. Daisy Ridley.

Nope - not even on a bus route.

It's somewhere around here https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.9262064,1.0979721,... on the left side (no houses that side).

I'll be taking a close look at it tonight to see if there are any markings at all.

Thanks . Surprised there's no markings on it at all though.

I guess the wait for above 2 Mbit/s speeds continues..

Interesting name - "Straight Road".

Down in Wales, I am aware of a road always referred to as "The Other-Side Road", with reference to the valley it is in.

They kept the names simple in our village - rural Essex was a simple place back then.

Steam Mill Road ... used to have a Steam Mill
Mill Lane ... Watermill
Windmill Road .. you guessed it - a windmill .
Heath Road , yep the heath.

And, possibly simplest of all, is 'The Street'.

A lot of rural places are like that. The village my Mum lives in the road that runs through the village is just called 'Main Street'.
