Is this a fibre node?

[link to this post]

Hey guys,

I'm monitoring my fibre install, I'm now planned to be connected to a cabinet (number 2), and noticed this little bad boy at the bottom of my road, is it a fibre node - https://www.dropbox.com/s/tum0kzznjlockzf/IMG_1458.j...

What's the average time for a cabinet to go live, or is it just as long as a piece of string?

What exchange are you on?

Could be some fibre equipment. Does it have a yellow and black cable going into it?

That looks like the copper phone shell that all the phone lines on the pole go into, you normally have them in the chamber by the phone pole.

Each cabinet is different.

Its copper phone lines.
Take a look here in the new dug out chamber, you can see the same shell, it has copper cables going in and out of it, outside on the pavement is a FibreDP and a small extra copper phone shell.

Wormbridge exchange. Cabinet is currently being installed up the road from me, engineers going there daily atm.

Was just trying to workout the network infrastructure, and how far complete it was, got excited when I seen it!

That's a universal cap ended closure joint made by Tyco, and is housing a copper joint.

Cabinet 2 is listed to be live around July 2017 but that's just a place holder estimated date.
