Re: Openreach to rollout 3dB target SNRm for FTTC next year

I'm not discounting what John has said, neither am I saying it's definitely at 3 dB, it just looks very likely from the stats you have provided. Do you mind pasting some more detailed line stats e.g. the whole xDSL page from the web GUI? Thanks.

Well, if those line stats don't prove to you that it's at 3 dB, then I don't know what will. wink
A line that actually is on a 3dB profile? You're going solely on the current SNRM being 3dB and the attainable being higher than sync.
The user just confirmed traditional interleaving is active, which we know artificially pushes up max attainable.

The fact he's on an ECI cabinet should say it all. Unless you have some new info that this is being rolled out to ECI, before the Huawei rollout is even complete. A quick resync would confirm it either way. The target SNRM never changes on the fly, and should remain at 3dB after a resync.

In reply to a post by Jez_:
I have noticed that my line has slowly dropped over the last few days in 1db steps, down to its current 3.4db matched by a 79999 sync which i have not seen in around a year. Great news smile

I appear to have a slight issue with usable bandwidth though, my actual usable bandwidth when maxing out the line sits where it did before the changes, at just over 70mbit.

Strange one, its almost as though i have an IP profile which is stuck at the old sync rate which was that speed, which had been maintained for a long time?
Are you still with TalkTalk?

If so then you do not have an IP Profile. If you are now on a BT Wholesale based connection then going to the Further Diagnostics of the BT Wholesale Performance Test will tell you it. On a 79999Kbps sync it will be 77.4Mbps. Technically it might be 77.35 but I think that gets rounded up.

To check actual throughput speed, remember you must use a wired connection. There are too many variables affecting it on a wireless one.

Have I missed something, or have you been given info in PM about Jez's line stats?
