I have noticed that my line has slowly dropped over the last few days in 1db steps, down to its current 3.4db matched by a 79999 sync which i have not seen in around a year. Great news
I appear to have a slight issue with usable bandwidth though, my actual usable bandwidth when maxing out the line sits where it did before the changes, at just over 70mbit.
Strange one, its almost as though i have an IP profile which is stuck at the old sync rate which was that speed, which had been maintained for a long time?
Are you still with TalkTalk?
If so then you do not have an IP Profile. If you are now on a BT Wholesale based connection then going to the Further Diagnostics of the BT Wholesale Performance Test
will tell you it. On a 79999Kbps sync it will be 77.4Mbps. Technically it might be 77.35 but I think that gets rounded up.
To check actual throughput speed, remember you must use a wired connection. There are too many variables affecting it on a wireless one.
