Re: Openreach to rollout 3dB target SNRm for FTTC next year

Crosstalk is the only reason can think of, in which case the max attainable wouldn't really increase by 12meg or whatever, it would simply allow it to maintain a higher connection rate?

No Midlands exchanges on that list by the looks.

Looks like crosstalk to me.

Mines gone from 82Mb attainable to 68Mb in 18 months and the cab is pretty much full now.

Hmmm not 1 Welsh exchange on that list as far as I can see. Wonder why that is? Where do you get this list?

Don't get too worried, I see none for around this way (SE of England) either.

I'm not that bothered - just thought it was a bit strange that there aren't any Welsh exchanges mentioned at all. I'm happy with my 64Mbps-ish sync @ 6.2db for now.

I wonder what sort of increase I'd get when it does kick in nation-wide??

No North East ones either, I wouldn't worry.

Probably somewhere in the region of 6-12meg extra.

That would be a nice gain. Even at 64Mbps, with BT TV, 2 Laptops and 2 kids on their tablets, my connection is showing hints of starting to struggle wink

Unless you're constatly streaming UHD or downloading large files all of the time, then it really shouldn't be.

64mbps would get you 10 simultaneous HD Iplayer streams.

It looks like the only exchanges to get this update are all down south. is this the north south divide again. None as I can see in the north west
