G-Fast Not In plans anymore?

[link to this post]

When the openreach checker first got updated, I checked my cabinet, and it seemed to have been in the rollout plans.

A few weeks ago, an extension pod (with vents) seems to be added, looks like the other g-fast pods I have seen pictured.

Now when I check using postcode or phone number, it just says Superfast Accepting Orders, no mention of g-fast at all.

It's cabinet 77 Derby

The checkers often misbehave when a cabinet is about to go live.

Yeah thats what I though, but it has been a few weeks since its been installed, and since then taken off the checkers.

Even checked address close to the cabinet just incase it was a distance thing

Nothing no mention for my address / telephone number

Tried Address of the street that the cabinet is on just incase distance is a factor, but nope, shows nothing

The pod, it is on the side of the copper cabinet? And not the fibre cabinet (if its on the fibre cabinet then its nothing to do with G.fast but an extension to add more line ports for the VDSL2 cabinet)

I would of thought it be on the side of the fttc cab.. Why is it on the PCP?

One reason is to the reduce the overall distance the signal needs to travel down the copper to the end user.

Because that is where it goes for g.fast (on side of PCP), saves a bit of distance, plus leaves side of fibre twin available for port expansion, plus many more designs of fibre twin exist, where as just one main 'modern' PCP design, and those that are the older styles have been slowly being upgraded.

Distance is all important on g.fast
