Interesting

[link to this post]

VDSL Range A (Clean) 61.2 45.2 15.6 10.1 39.9 Available
VDSL Range B (Impacted) 48.1 27.4 12.9 6 21.5 Available

My stats from the BT Wholesale checker have gone down a considerable amount. The clean High used to be 80 and the Impacted high was 76. As you can see they have come down a considerable way. Are these stats updated by the DSLAM in real time?

Current sync is 69892/17901

They adjust fairly rapidly to cover your actual speeds. Is that what they have done?

On ADSLx they also adjusted in the same way, but much more slowly.

It's a way of avoiding sorting out problems, as support (and Openreach) can simply say your line is performing within the estimates if you complain your speeds have fallen. On ADSLx on BT Wholesale at least we knew there was an officially recorded MSR and FTR we could argue about.

Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 63679/13080Kbps @ 600m. BQMs - IPv4 & IPv6

Likely updated based on line conditions and cab subscribers (increased risk of crosstalk)

Yes they have come down to reflect conditions on the ground although my down sync 69 is higher than the clean high now.

Or maybe a way of offering realistic estimates as to speeds people might expect ?

Not in my case. The checker still shows a clean low of 32.4 Mbps and impacted low of 20 but my line can only manage 14 Mbps. I suppose maybe it hasn't been updated because there's been a waiting list since December.
