Just crosstalk?

[link to this post]

I recently migrated into TalkTalk Fibre from BT Infinity 2 and DLM has removed G.INP from my line and turned on interleaving (level 1) so i'm syncing at 55/20 - 120m from my cab.

The line has gradually got slower and slower over the years from 79999/20000 to around 61000kbps where it's been the last 18 months.

Is it simply crosstalk?

55Mb on a 120m line isnít right. The drop in speed seems too much to be crosstalk.

Do you have your router plugged into the master socket with a filtered faceplate (SSFP)? Could do with knowing your maximum attainable speed to see if DLM has intervened.

I have a similar issue to you; my sync is 56Mb after previously being 73Mb. Difference is Iím 370m from the cabinet. Mine is definitely a faulty port at the fibre cabinet. The max attainable speed at the cabinet is only 80Mb. So I need a Lift and Shift (change of port at the fibre cabinet), you might be having a similar issue. Itís quite common.

The attainable is also 55Mb with a 7db snr currently.

Yes Openreach came and fitted a new faceplate and the HG612 is plugged straight into it.

I'm on an Huawei 384HD cab. Downstream attenuation is 13.8db.

If we have a local power cut it syncs at 79999/20000.

Attenuation of 13.8dB suggests a line that is around 350 to 400m long not the 120 you believe.

My parents downstream attenuation is 13.6db and they only getting 52Meg out of 80Meg before. They now downgraded to 40/2 because 80/20 isn't worth the price for getting 52Meg or less.

Mine downstream attenuation is 11.7db and getting 80/20 max.

Could be possible.

What was the predicted speed when you ordered the service?

52Mb.

My attainable on BT was 61 but I was banded on 55 due to a faulty modem.

In that case I think itís highly unlikely youíre only 120 metres from the cabinet.

Can't u order Billion 8800NL and test it out - you should be easily get 80/20 no problem from it. I am using my Billion 8800NL from day one and never let me down!

Unlikely if his predicted speed was 52Mb.
