When will 160/30 FTTP be available?

[link to this post]

Openreach apparently launched 160/30 and 330/50 FTTP services yesterday. When would you expect BT Retail/others to offer it, if at all?

(I currently have 80/20. I skipped 200/20 at the time due to the unimpressive relative upload speed, but 160/30 sounds like a good sweet spot.)

Could be days/weeks/months/years, ie how long is a piece of string? As an example Openreach announced many months ago 500 Mb and 1000Mb FTTP tiers yet no isp selling them yet (afaik).

I'm in one of the new announced G Fast trial area's, yet still nothing happening.
Still no news what us Infinity 2 users are going to get, since Infinity 1 users got a free speed upgrade & I'm still paying more for same speed.

Nope frown
Not even their where and when data has been updated to those speeds, mine still says down 330.

When I spoke to BT's FTTP team the other month I asked about the new FTTP Speeds and the new prices, not that I need any more speed down, but more up would be nice, I would also be interested in the new lower prices, sadly they got all confused and had no clue of them.

G.fast is on pilot and orders can be placed in those regions. Can't comment for BT Retail however.

Hi Everyone

Cerberus G-Fast services are available to order now, and you can check availability at:

https://www.cerberusnetworks.co.uk/connectivity-broa...

If G-Fast isn't available and FTTP on Demand is costing too much in your area, then you can also consider our bonded FTTC offerings. More information here:

https://www.cerberusnetworks.co.uk/connectivity-broa...

Thank you

Still think that Infinity 2 users are getting something? Why?
What about the ADSL users?
What about my gran and her landline?
What about my mobile contact with BT.
They better not give 1 set of customers something and not everyone else. Imagine a company doing that.

They took advantage of an OpenReach promotion that was available to all ISP's. Free FTTC product change. There's nowhere for Infinity 2 users to go, unless you want a drop in speed.

G.Fast isn't going to happen for Infinity 2 customers. Not enough pods, not enough ports on the pods. If you're on a trial cabinet, try join a trial.

I would guess they are going to rebrand Infinity 1&2 as Infinity 1 with "upto" 76Mb, and make G.Fast Infinity 2.
No idea really.
Don't know why Infinity 2 users suddenly think they are owed something though.
What did you get when Infinity 1 users went from 40 to 55Mb? Nothing.

I think the question is why Infinity 2 users are now paying much more for what is essentially the same as Infinity 1 except for a few extras (like more cloud storage). Having 2 almost identical products with a significant price difference is not a good model for the consumer.

As an Infinity 2 user I did get a "Boost" but it is a doubling of cloud storage that I don't use. Currently I am on a decent deal so not a big issue but if Infinity 1 does become the standard up to 76Mbps package then Infinity 2 users would presumably get moved over to it at some point (especially as a large number of users won't currently or in the near future have a G.Fast option).
