Madasafish Webmail login???

[link to this post]

When I go to my Madasafish Webmail account the Email address box is filled in with
"1330110%3A636a6574d124e85db210fe8ce99869bd"
and there is a note to say
"Unfortunately we are not able to log you in to Webmail. Please ensure that you have entered your full email address and password correctly."
I can delete the Email box address and add the correct one together with my password to get access but there are no emails in any in folders.
I nomally open the account every few weeks to check if there have been any emails put into my spam account that should have been forwarded to my Outlook Express.
I investigated further to find the spam filter "off" and the notification to inform me of any emails containing virus was "on". I normally get notification of a virus in an email which has been deleted, but have not have anything for a number of weeks.
If the initial login does not allow me to logon without deleting and adding my correct address will any emails being directed to this non existant address just not being delivered.
It use to be quite entertaining to read the number of offers for viagra, counterfit watches and member extention pills but all my in folders are empty.
I am still receiving my emails from my freenetname and Domain name email address, is the new spam filter software so good it does not allow anything into the spam folder?
I am no computer expert just want thing to work as normal, any expaination in pure laymans terms would be appreciated.
John

Hi there,

The spam filtering is more efficient than what was originally in place. It's based on IronPort's reputation engine.

Presumably you've switched the spam filter back on after finding it turned off?

Regarding the weird string in the email address field, I'd be interested to know whether or not that happens if you try a different web browser? If it doesn't then you can probably fix the problem by clearing your temporary Internet files, cache and cookies.

Bob,

Thank you for your interest.

Yes Spam filter has now been switched on.

I am confused; when the Spam filter was switched off I was not receiving other emails apart from my normal messages, nothing to indicate the Spam filter was off, I would have thought that my inbox would have been filled with unwanted offers?

The weird string does appear on both Explore and Firefox, I did wonder if the strange Webmail login would have prevented your server seeing my correct email address?

I would be a little concerned in deleting my cookies, not quite knowing what I am doing but I do remember hitting the delete all and losing passwords which took a bit of time to correct.

I would be grateful for your advice (in simple terms) on the file deletions as you say it may help with the webmail login. Buy the way after deleting this string I can data the box and my correct email address appears together with my password.

As I can just delete it and input my freenetname address it is no big problem but if it could be fixed it would make life simpler.

Any other information you require please let me know, and thanks for your time and effort.

All the best

John

Hi John,

Firefox should allow to delete your temporary internet files for that page on it's own. Does that help remove the strange entry at all?

In reply to a post by planman:

In Firefox go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Show Cookies, search for 'Madasafish' and delete the cookies that appear.

If that doesn't work then I'd be interested to know if the same issue occurs with a browser that you haven't yet got installed. Try Opera.

I have deleted "Madasafish" Cookies in Firefox and the strange string still occurs.

I have also installed Opera and the login to Webmail still has the string in the login box.

The score is 3 out of 3 for Internet Explorer, Firefox and now Opera over to you.

Don't worry too much I can get around it for the login but my main concern is the Spam folder has only two messages so is not receiving spam for me to check if there are any genuine messages which have been "Spammered" by mistake.

I have opened a ticket ref ID: 28405799 on the Madasafish site but feel I stand a better chance on this site to get some answers.

Thanks James for your imput.

I have sent a message to Bob covering file deletions without any result in getting rid of the strange string.

I am now getting advice from yourself and Bob although it is nice being popular if you could decide on whom I should deal with it will save duplicate answers.

I do not visit this site daily but have updates of postings delivered to my Outlook Express in box so I normally spot a reply eventually!

Thanks for your help.

Update on strange string???

The strange stringe in the email address box has now been replaced with my correct Freenetname email address - result.

But the logins still states:-

Unfortunately we are not able to log you in to Webmail. Please ensure that you have entered your full email address and password correctly.

The password box is blank but if I highlite the email address the password will be filled in correctly and I can enter the Webmail.

Spam filter still Off but I have only received two emails offering cut price viagra in my Outlook express so there is still a restriction on what spam I receive.

I don't know if the strange string has been fixed by yourselves or the Ticket Team but it is fixed definate progress.

Now for something completely different, since your update on the pipes etc my connection speed has increased to 7104 Kbps nearly as good as when I joined Freenetname many years ago. Perhaps I should not have mentioned that as it may well go back to my normal 4000 Kbps which was quite adequate for my usage.

Keep up the good work.

Have you got anything like Norton Internet Security with it's 'identity safe' product installed? This saves username and passwords for you - just wondering if it has saved a load of jibberish?

Simon,

Thank you for your suggestion but I have not got any Norton software installed.

Progress has been made, my email address is now shown when I connect with Internet Explorer or Opera but Moziller Firefox still inputs the strange string.

The score is now 2 to 1 so definite improvement but what concerns me more is with the spam filter now OFF I am only receiving my normal emails and am not being swamped with Spam.

I know we now have a better type of spam software installed at source but as it is the choice of the user to have spam delivered or not it would appear the new filter is stopping all spam whether or not the user spam box is on or off.

An interesting problem but luckily not life threatening but it would be nice to be fixed.

Perhaps I should be grateful as per this board some members have had no emails delivered for a number of weeks so I am realy unaffected.

Thanks for your interest.

John
