Nothing seems to have changed much, no problems with phone line/computer etc
Hi gittos,
I'm assuming you mean nothing has changed
at all with your set up

Plus you know the router and micro filters are OK.
Try the tests with the router ethernet wired to the PC if possible (you never know if someone is piggy backing your connection if your wireless security is not up to scratch

)
Anyway it's best to connect to the test socket within the
Master BT socket (NTE5 type if you have that) for any further checks in case there are any wiring type problems your side of the master socket.
There are a number of things that can cause a loss of speed like congestion/problems at your exchange more noticeable when things get busy in the evenings or the gateway/pipe you are connected to is also getting congested.
If the data is up to date
this might show if there is a problem at the exchange.
An event like a noise burst can cause your router to disconnect/loose sync with the exchange and resync at a lower speed causing your profile to drop. The noise margin can rise from the default 6dB in 3dB increments because of the effect of noise and again if you loose sync your profile drops as does the line speed.
In certain senarios it can take up to 5 days (sometimes even a few more) for your profile to get back to what it should be before the noise problems/loss of sync occured.
For a start try to get a speed result + profile from this
link, it may take a while to connect to if it's busy.
The other thing to check is the line
stats which you get from the router as that will show if the noise margin is high.
