Router based parental control

[link to this post]

I am looking to set up router based filtering/controls, particularly to be able to limit access to unsuitable sites via my son's ipod. I suspect I may need to buy a new router to enable this, I currently have a DLINK 2640B. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks

You would probably get a wider audience posting Here However to comply with forum rules you would need to deleete this thread as cross posting is not allowed.

I find router based parental control slows down browsing. A better option IMO is to use opendns web filtering.
see www.opendns.com

You need to create a free account there to see the web filter options. Also if on a dynamic IP you'll need some method of updating any change in IP. They provide a PC based tool for this or if the router does dynamic dns you could use that.

http://www.opendns.com/ allows restrictions to what sites can be found via URL (as opposed to knowing the IP address).

They also do Familyshield http://www.opendns.com/familyshield which is a simpler version aimed at requirements similar to your own.
