Hi,

Over the last week or so I've been getting a lot of disconections & the profile has dropped like a stone from:

Download speedachieved during the test was - 2746 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3552 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 3000 Kbps

TO:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 381 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :416 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 1750 Kbps

Does the line still drop with the router plugged into the master socket and all the phones (and everything else) unplugged from the line? If so please report this to us at http://faults.madasafish.com . If it doesn't then it's likely something plugged into the line or an issue with the wiring somewhere.

Hope that helps,

I've had it connected for just over a hour:

Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:01:05:17
Line Coding Trellis On Line Up Count 1

Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 2912 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 12.2 dB 9.0 dB
Line Attenuation 55.0 dB 30.0 dB
Output Power 18.6 dBm 12.5 dBm
K (number of bytes in DMT frame) 92 15
R (number of check bytes in RS code word) 16 16
S (RS code word size in DMT frame) 2 8
D (interleaver depth) 16 4
Super Frames 230364 230362
Super Frame Errors 9 0
RS Words 7832392 1958077
RS Correctable Errors 383 8
RS Uncorrectable Errors 96 0
HEC Errors 9 0
OCD Errors 0 0
LCD Errors 0 0
ES Errors 0 0

I'm going to take it back to where it was in a little while to see if the line rate goes down again, if it does I guess that it's an extension problem, if it doesn't I guess it's the resetting of the router.

Could this be connected to any maintanence, which turning of for a while then restarting has fixed?

Hi there,

It's very unlikely that any maintenance could cause this to be honest. If turning off and on for a short while has fixed it it's more likely to be the router, unless anything was unplugged from the phone line whilst the router was off?

The speed is still very very low, will the ip profile change automatically?

Download speedachieved during the test was - 298 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2912 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 350 Kbps

It should do in theory even if it is BTw's equipment tongue, anyway have a read of this when you've time.

You may have to do a disconnect then reconnect with the router if the IP profile doesn't change after a reasonable amount of uptime hours.

Did a speed test this morning & the download speed is still lower than the upload speed frown I've started a ticket, but so far it just says that there are no problems found with initial tests.

oh btw the disconnections seem to have stopped afaik.
