BT Speedtester Not Working on MAAF

[link to this post]

Tried it on IE and FF, both say - ' The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.

Has been like this for several days. It used to work okay - What's the problem

Just tried it on my 20CN ADSL Max connection (G.DMT) and the data appeared around three minutes later, using FF 3.6.16 at the moment.

The PT is temperamental thing as on other occasions a few weeks ago it would just not produce any data for my connection.

Methinks, BT don't want customers to be able to do these tests at present! - I wonder why!

Just tried it again on FF and IE - Results as follows :-

The Performance Tester is currently unable to run a speed test for your broadband connection. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.'

This is after 2 mins 53 secs exactly, every time!

Well I am very pleased for you.
Perhaps someone else can suggest why it doesn't work for me.
Just re-ran it - exactly the same.

I have raised a ticket for this. I am on Globalnet, which is part of MAAF, which is part of BT. Maybe that makes a difference.

PS - If the connection was more stable, then I wouldn't have to keep checking my profile, but BT's rubbishy internet over 20th century telephone wire is a bit dated to say the least.
I can almost see Watford exchange from my house, but BT say that I am too far from the exchange to connect at speeds greater than 3meg - How quaint!
