Very slow connection for the last few days....

Connection has been very slow for a few days, and router reboots have not helped. Run a few test this evening:

Speedtest.net suggests 1.1 Mbps, with a 122ms ping
,
BT Speedtester saying 954 kbps.

Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

I'm used to at least 5 Mbps, sometimes over 7, so this is not good!

Is there a problem - Madasafish 'Service Status' showing green...

No problem here the throughput speeds are much the same as usual for my connection.

Is the throughput speed slow all the time or more so at certain times of the day e.g. the evening?

You could try this to check for any issues at your exchange.

Thanks for that link - not seen that before...

It reports the following:

Virtual paths: Amber


BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

The ETA fix time is: Not provided by BT

Like Alastair says, the key here is whether or not your throughout is consistently poor, or just refined to certain times of the day?
