deteriorating speeds

[link to this post]

Since the beginning of this year my broadband speed seem to have deteriorated substantially from 2788kbps to the last check today at 1374kbps thinkbroadband graphs below:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/profile/connections/vi...

Nothing my end has changed since I had the higher speeds.

The link isn't taking me to the page you want it to smile

I've noticed that ping times for my connection have increased by forty percent, possibly around the time it changed to IPSC but that's maybe just a coincidence.

In general terms can't say that speeds have gone down hill in a big way, although during some evenings the internet can appear to be a bit sluggish for a while.

A mate of mine si having the same problem, in fact he been having the same problem for months. all he get from MAAF is to try another router, so he did, I lent him my speedtouch, but he still having problems. But they still tell him to try another router.
I don't think they can read emails at MAAF, a Awful ISp to be honest, with customer service that is as bad as Talk Talk if that is possible.

Hi Chris,

If you could advise of a ticket ID or drop me a PM with your username I'd be happy to look into this for you and see if I can get things moving?

Hi there,

Happy to take a look for you if you could let me know a username or ticket number so I can find the account? I'd definitely like to look into that one if that's alright.

Hi Matthew.

I've been experiencing some pretty slow speeds of late too. I have phoned tech support about it a number of times over the past year or so but nothing has been done.

My router is currently connecting at about 2500kbps and it should be about 7500kbps.

Is there any chance you can help please?

Thanks smile

Hi there,

I've done some checks and there were a fair few dropped connections in February and March which could well have led to a speed drop like this. Unfortunately the line speed estimate for your line is now showing at 1.5Mb which is slightly slower than the 2000 profile you're on currently but it's probably a bit too late to raise a fault on the line now.

If you'd like to try it then please by all means raise us a fault at http://faults.plus.net with details of the speed change and if possible any details of line drops from round then (if you have them) - it'll probably be worth confirming there's no speed improvement with the router plugged into the master socket and all other items unplugged from the phone line.

Hi Nick,

Sure thing, happy to take a look for you. Do you have a ticket ID (ideally from a fault ticket) that you could post so I can have a look at your account please?
