Has a BT engineer messed my speed up?!?

[link to this post]

Everything has been running tickety boo recently speeds on or around 2 Meg, good solid connections.

This morning I notice a BT engineer on the pole ouside our house messing with something for the house 3 doors up and this evening when I try to use the net, guess what, speeds down to about a 1/4 of what I've been getting and constantly having to reboot the router.

Could somebody cast an eye please. Ta!

Not that I can discern.

He may have jarred something in the box on the pole is more my thinking.

Have you tried the quiet line test, if not dial 17070 and take option 2 if it's still that for the test.

What are the line stats like , is the noise margin higher?

Hi pontyslapper,

I'd agree with what others have said here, and recommend you check for noise on the line and keep an eye out for disconnections. He may well have caused a profile drop if he made your line lose connection more than a handful of times, but provided it stays stable afterwards things should jump back up and if not we can request a reset for you which will let the line retrain.
