MAAF contact number

[link to this post]

This is a message to the support staff at MAAF/PN

As there is a message advising that from 30/05/14 ALL contracts with MAAF will move to PlusNet do you not feel it would be fairer to give the PN contact number for support rather than the expensive 0844 number?

The number at the bottom of the top message here and here on the contact us page should both be changed.

Can someone change them over?

CJT.

We've provided the support for MAAF for many years already, this is simply a name change for certain aspects of the service more than anything else.

The 0844 number has been flagged internally and if there is any change in this we'll update it on the website.

Chris,

thank you for getting back to me...

Is there any reason why MAAF use an 0844 number and PN (who supply the support and "own" the brand effectively) use an 0800/0345 number?

It would appear to those outside of PN that you are treating those who use MAAF differently to those who use PN...

It is daft as MAAF customers can call the Plusnet numbers anyway and don't need to use the 0844 (although if they also have MAAF phone the 0844 is free anyway).

While your on Chris can you change the dialup number in the accounts section on the MF website as it has changed for dial on demand.

I wasn't aware there was no charge for MAAF customers to call if they have MAAF phone, however those who don't would get charged a premium to call the number where as PN's customer's don't as it's either Freephone or geographically charged/inclusive.

I am sure that I read a reply a long while ago from a PN rep to say that MAAF customers could use any PN number to contact support. I expect they all end up in the same queue anyway!

It doesn't alter the fact that there should not be a difference - it's discrimination wink
