This has been reported internally. In the meantime you can log in to your MAAF emails at webmail.plus.net

Enter your full email address and your email password, leaving the dropdown box set to Plusnet.

I have the time out problem regularly, but even worse is that you are now unable to log in to the online portal to request online help. My partner is unable to log on to the webmail service, as it says the password is wrong, yet neither of us are able to use the online support as you just go round in an endless loop trying to log in. We are not resident in UK and reluctant to ring the premium rate number for assistance.

You may want to look at www.saynoto0870.com and search for an alternative to 0345 140 0200 which is their "out of the UK" number. As they are based in Sheffield it should start 0114...

There should be no need - an 03 number should work from outside the UK and will cost the same an 0114 number.

While UK based telephony providers are obliged to connect 03 numbers on the same basis as 01 and 02 overseas providers are not under OFCOM rules. There have been reports of 03 numbers failing to connect from abroad or being charged at higher rates. If you're using Skype or other VOIP providers then check their charges. Another way would be to use online web chat. Typing isn't quite as immediate as speaking but is free if you have decent internet access.

Saynoto0870 suggests: 0114 296 5196 and 0114 296 5162. Both are said to be sales lines but will transfer to customer service.

Thanks everyone. The plusnet chat support were responsive. They said the best thing to do was to log on through the plusnet webmail portal https://webmail.plus.net . This actually worked with the same password that doesn't work through the maaf webmail portal. They said this was no longer supported. So at least access to mail again. It doesn't show the mailbox size however, which is useful when keeping below the measely 100MB limit, which they won't change.

Sadly they don't. As has I believe been previously noted on the PN forum. Outside of the UK a lot of network's either don't recognise 03 numbers or will charge them at a more expensive rate. Only in the UK must they be charged as per a standard 01/02 number.
