Hi All,
Just noticed that Orange have enabled something new at my exchange, similar to another post it was enabled on 20/1/2010.
Would this be an ADSL2+ service or just the IP Stream again, it says i can get 10mb, where as my IP Stream will only give me 8mb.
My exchange is
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SDMDDLT
It reads as it is the proper unbundled service but i didnt know if this was just a marketing thing to get new signs ups.
Thanks for looking

I think it's probably Orange's 20 Meg LLU. However, BT don't yet have their 20 Meg 21CN service there, so I'm not sure how Orange achieve it, but probably they are entirely different beasts.
Orange tend to underestimate speeds on their availability checker. They estimate me at 9.5 Meg when I've had 16 Meg on my line. Post your current router stats (Mode, Speeds, Attenuations, Noise Margins) and we'll tell you what you should get.

i would love to get an LLU service so hopefully tis could be the case with Orange, should i Email them directly to get it confirmed if it is ADSL2+?

Yes, you could get about 19.5 Meg Sync. Best to confirm it is LLU & ADSL2+.

Thanks, just waiting for Customer services to reply to my Email, sent it yesterday so hopefully a reply tomorrow.
Would be great if its LLU service, is it worth the 18month contract? think i have read no port blocking, traffic management etc on LLU if this is the case i will love it.

would any1 have a good Email address for someone at Orange who could answer a basic question such as, Is the exchange enabled to ADSL2+
i have tried Customer.servcies @orange.com and they replied back asking for my name, date of birth, password etc. I'm not yet a customer so this info would be useless to them.
tried looking on thier site but nothing to see for non customer enquiries.
Thanks

Why not phone their New Customers line on 0800 072 5563?

Thanks,
i tried the number and they said it was an LLU service, i really would like it in writing but they said they cant do it, only want it in case there is a problem and i get put on to IP stream again, then i can get out of the contract.
will wait for the CS to reply to my Email and see what they have to say.
Heres hoping!

Yes, that figures. Orange never calls it LLU but "in our area". When you sign up with them at an exchange where they do have an LLU presence, i.e. "in their area", they might put you on IPStream if they have no spare LLU capacity at the time, but charge you the LLU price. Thus they never commit themselves to whether you will get LLU.They would then move you to LLU when there is capacity.
