Hi, I just picked up this email from my Orange Junk Mailbox, it has the Subject: ***SPAM*** and so was classed as spam, a strange way to send customers information messages. shocked

Subject: *** SPAM ***Some minor admin changes

It wouldn't have originally been sent with that in the Subject line. That has been inserted by some Spam detection system along the way. It's fairly typical of what SpamAssassin can be configured to do on a mailserver for example.

You can configure your Orange WebMail to not place what it arbitrarily classifies as Spam in its Junk Mailbox. Then you can retrieve it as normal with your email client.

Hi, I see so the Orange spam blocker inserted *** SPAM *** into the email title.
I did not think of that thanks. blush

Hi XRaySpeX, I did see that thanks, after I went into anti-Spam under (Other options & services).
I have never set it to class any messages as spam; it is only by chance I had a look in Orange Web Mail and see the email there, normally I pickup my emails with Outlook Express, strange just that one ended up in the Junk Mail Box. It looks a useful tool I will probably use it in the future. wink

Junk Mail
You have asked for junk mails* to be sent to:
Your Junk Mail folder
Your Inbox
Which one was ticked?

They changed the default for this to "Your Junk Mail folder" about 6 months ago.

Ironic the Orange's own Spam Detector detects their own email as spam smile

I never received the email you opened this with in your OP, altho' I have all "spam" delivered to my Inbox, where I can do my own filtering and avoid false positives like this.

The Junk Mail folder was ticked; have now ticked inbox.

I left that Orange info email in my Junk Mail folder and it has been deleted; because the Junk Mail folder emails are deleted automatically after 7 days, it is a good job I have a copy here. wink

Maybe they sent that email because with Orange I have broadband, telephone and line rental. smirk
